Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett left Saturday's game against Michigan with a leg injury.

ESPN.com's Austin Ward and Fox Sports Ohio's Zac Jackson reported the details of Barrett's injury:

Michigan coach Brady Hoke commented on the injury via Ozone Communications:

Michael Shamburger of The Big Lead posted a photo of the injury occurring:

The Detroit Free Press shared a photo of Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner checking on Barrett:

Linebacker Darron Lee talked about the injury after the game via the team's Twitter account:

Barrett did an overall admirable job filling the big shoes of incumbent starting signal-caller Braxton Miller, who's missed all of the 2014 season with an injury to his right throwing shoulder.

ESPN College Football alluded to how Barrett's numbers through eight games stacked up well with Miller's through all of 2013:

Barrett enrolled early last year but was recovering from a torn ACL and had to redshirt. Then he suffered a sprained MCL in the Buckeyes' win at Penn State on October 25. This latest ailment is greater cause for alarm.

It will be on sophomore Cardale Jones to take over under center while Barrett recovers. While it's hard to expect Jones to play as well as Barrett has, Ohio State can still rely on its top-flight defense to keep it in games.

Regardless of how the rest of the year plays out, Barrett has laid the groundwork for a successful future in Columbus. Once Miller leaves the program, the Buckeyes can look forward to Barrett leading the charge, presuming his health permits him to.
