Penn State is addressing its needs at special teams in a huge way during this offseason.

Less than a month after picking up a commitment from Blake Gillikin, the nation's No. 1 punter in the 2016 class, the Nittany Lions have picked up a commitment from Quinn Nordin—the nation's No. 1 kicker.

Nordin, a native of Rockford, Michigan, turned down the in-state Wolverines by pledging to the Nittany Lions on Friday morning.

The top-ranked kicker made his announcement on Twitter with a music video that included a private jet:

According to Lions247's Sean Fitz, Penn State was the first Power Five school to offer Nordin a scholarship, and that stood out to him in his recruitment.

"The coaching staff was just off the charts awesome," Nordin said, per Fitz. "They’ve always been with me, on my side, helping me out and keeping the faith in me...They were in my first 10 offers and they stuck around for a while, which means a lot to my family."

Nordin also had offers from a number of Power Five schools across the country, including Arizona State, Georgia, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan State and Pittsburgh.

The 6'1" kicker was the highest-rated specialist in the country from the Kornblue Kicking Camp, which puts out rankings of the top 50 kickers, punters and snappers in a recruiting class.

"He is one of the strongest place-kickers in the nation and continues to make gains with his consistency and accuracy," his bio on Kornblue Kicking reads. "Quinn recently spent four days in January 2015 training with Kornblue Kicking. ... During the training, he drilled a 65-yard field goal off the ground. He’s already showing great height, ball rotation and distance on field goals as a high school junior."

According to Nick Polak of SB Nation's Black Shoe Diaries, the powerful Nordin has the talent to make an instant impact for the Nittany Lions when he arrives in State College next year.

"Penn State is bringing in someone who will challenge for the starting kicking job right away," Polak wrote. "Depending on how Penn State kickers fare this season, it could be his job to lose right away. Nordin will also likely have the kickoff job in hand before even stepping onto campus."

With both Nordin and Gillikin committed, Penn State has the best possible combination of specialists in the entire 2016 class. The last school to pull off such a feat was Auburn in 2013, when it signed No. 1 kicker Daniel Carlson and No. 1 punter Jimmy Hutchinson.

Nordin's commitment gives Penn State 16 pledges in this cycle, and head coach James Franklin now has the No. 6 class in 247Sports' composite team rankings.
