ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The 17th-ranked Michigan Wolverines shellacked the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 49-16 on Saturday at the Big House.
Jake Rudock threw for a career-high 337 yards, tossing a pair of touchdowns and running for another. Behind another strong defensive performance, Michigan improved to 7-2 on the season.
Excluding a 54-yard run from Robert Martin in the first quarter, Rutgers (3-6) failed to amount a consistent attack. The Scarlet Knights were without leading receiver Leonte Carroo for the second straight game, and quarterback Chris Laviano struggled mightily once again.
