The Michigan Wolverines improved to 8-2 Saturday with a thrilling double-overtime victory over Indiana. Meanwhile, several future contributors kept busy by leading their respective high school squads this weekend.

Michigan recruits across America are currently competing in postseason action as seniors attempt to extend prep careers before moving on to Ann Arbor. These latest performances further solidify the exciting potential of a 2016 Wolverines class rated ninth nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Indiana quarterback Brandon Peters, a 4-star Elite 11 finalist, concluded his senior season with a narrow loss in state semifinal action. The 6'5", 205-pound passer completed 30 throws for 294 yards and two touchdowns as Avon High School suffered a 35-34 defeat in double-overtime against Center Grove High School, according to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press.

Peters led his squad to a go-ahead score on the first possession of a second overtime session, plunging ahead for a short touchdown run. He could only watch as Center Grove secured a state title game appearance minutes later with a touchdown and two-point conversion.

Rated No. 7 among pro-style quarterbacks in 247Sports' 2016 composite rankings, Peters torched opponents throughout the fall to establish career-best statistical totals. He completed 60 percent of his pass attempts for 3,097 yards and 37 touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

Peters propelled Avon to a memorable 2015 campaign. The team knocked off defending state champions during each of the past two playoff rounds, highlighted by a four-score performance last weekend against Cathedral High School.

Michigan landed Peters' pledge in April, beating out Wisconsin, Nebraska, LSU and others.

California standout Victor Viramontes also stars at quarterback for his high school squad, though he isn't expected to line up behind center in college. The 6'2", 220-pound Norco High School senior, the No. 26 athlete in 247Sports' 2016 composite rankings, put on quite a show during his final prep game.

Viramontes tallied five total touchdowns in a 72-36 playoff loss to Bishop Amat, according to Landon Negri of the Press-Enterprise. His effort featured two touchdown tosses, two touchdown runs and a receiving score.

“He’s a monster,” Norco head coach Chuck Chastain told Negri. “He did everything he could. I’m proud of everything he accomplished here.”

Viramontes collected 176 yards on the ground and 140 yards through the air. It was his fifth contest this fall with at least 100 rushing yards, per MaxPreps.

A strong senior season included 38 total touchdowns in 11 games. Viramontes recorded his third straight 1,000-yard rushing season and threw for nearly 4,000 yards as an upperclassman.

He could ultimately fill a variety of roles on either side of the ball at Michigan. Viramontes projects well at strong safety if a defensive career awaits him in Ann Arbor.

Another pair of potential Michigan offensive playmakers shined this weekend, as Indiana running back KianteEnis and New Jersey wide receiver Brad Hawkins delivered in their matchups

Enis, a 6'1", 200-pound prospect, capped off his career at Winchester Community High School with 100 yards on 19 carries in a 29-26 playoff loss to Woodlan, according to Blake Sebring of the News-Sentinel. He also hauled in a touchdown pass, pushing his senior season total to 38 scores.

Enis rushed for 6,991 yards and 99 touchdowns during the past three years, according to MaxPreps. He averaged almost 10 yards per carry during that span.

Hawkins, a 4-star talent at Camden High School near Philadelphia, enjoyed another strong performance in a crucial postseason showdown. He scored on a 12-yard run and caught a 15-yard touchdown toss during Camden's 31-6 win over Woodrow Wilson High School.

The 6'1", 202-pound senior pledged to Michigan in July, joining teammate and defensive end Ron Johnson in the Wolverines' class. Hawkins emerged as a coveted national recruit early after snagging 14 touchdown passes as a sophomore.
