Willie Henry and Graham Glasgow are locks to be selected in the 2016 NFL draft, but others like Jake Rudock attempted to establish themselves as late-round prospects with a solid performance at Michigan's pro day.
For some departing Wolverines, this was the final opportunity to show they're worthy of a contract as an undrafted free agent and an official chance to make a roster.
Representatives from NFL franchises were in attendance to record measurements and results from basic testing and on-field drills.
Desmond Morgan is among the players who needed to take advantage of pro day. Heading into the workout, Morgan understood the importance of excelling at the basics, per Dan D'Addona of the Holland Sentinel:
I am expecting something pretty standard, same stuff you do at the combine. But my expectation personally is to put up good numbers, showcase the speed and come in at a good weight and hopefully move up some people's draft boards. Every team will be here with at least a regional scout. It is really good exposure.
According to DraftInsider.net's Tony Pauline, Morgan met with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New England Patriots. He measured in just shy of 6'0" and weighed 231 pounds.
Though Morgan wasn't invited to the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine, the table below compares his pro day results to those of the linebackers who were in Indianapolis:
Rudock wasn't at Lucas Oil Stadium, either. Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News noted that the quarterback is using the snub as motivation.
"I was fueled by it," Rudock said. "It's one of those things that just happens and you don't know why and you don't accept it, but you learn to live with it."
Last year, he compiled the second-most single-season passing yards (3,017) in program history. Rudock also completed a career-best 64 percent of his passes and tossed 20 touchdowns while learning under Jim Harbaugh and Jedd Fisch, two NFL-experienced coaches.
According to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press, Rudock has workouts scheduled with the Lions, Vikings and Miami Dolphins. Former NFL scout and current NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt said Rudock had a strong day.
Another senior who needed a standout session was linebacker Joe Bolden. The departing captain is adamant he'll play football next year, per Rachel Lenzi of the Blade.
Perhaps Bolden's football future isn't at linebacker, though. At worst, he's prepared to make the switch. MLive Media Group's Nick Baumgardner noted that Bolden also worked out as a fullback and long snapper.
Somewhat similarly, Glasgow's position isn't certain since he played both guard and center during his three years as a starter in Ann Arbor. Granted, Glasgow is a more proven player than Bolden and will hear his name called on draft night.
However, Glasgow probably won't go off the board before Henry, who is Michigan's highest-regarded prospect. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller considers Henry a top-50 prospect.
According to Pauline, the defensive tackle stood on his combine results but met with the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots and New York Jets.
Joe Kerridge, on the other hand, said he earned personal-best marks in each category, per Chengelis. The fullback certainly needed to "wow" scouts, so that's an encouraging sign.
Pauline noted that tight end A.J. Williams ran the 40-yard dash between 4.85 and 4.92 seconds and "caught the ball well in position drills." Additionally, Mario Ojemudia is working back from his Achilles injury and has a workout scheduled for April 12.
